The Rotary float for this year's carnival used the Olympic games as it's theme and in particular the sailing events which will be held in Doset at Weymouth. Janet and her crew cleverly converted the trailer into a very presentable yacht complete with Rotary roundals and the Olympic logo. Somehow the theme became a little confused after that when ten, nineteenth century, sailors, sailoresses, sailor cadets and, for some reason a football coach turned up to accompany the yacht round the town. The crew set off with determination in their stride but the enthusiasm appeared to have faltered somewhere around Eddie Harts house because only two or three were still in attendance by the time it reached Rabin Hill.
This was a great effort by all those involved, who have once again done their bit for the community spirit and local charities.
