A
few days later sees the engine taking shape. Anybody recognise the type?
Taking
shape. The tracks are now clearly defined and work is beginning on the engine.
Expert advice has been sought on to obtain a representation of an authentic engine
that will have been used on the line at that time. | | Meanwhile
work on the final face has started. Peter is attempting to depict the railway
and creamery connection to Sturminster's past on this face. |

As
promised the third face has been completed on time and to the same high standard
of artistic ability that we have come to expect of Peter's work.
Slow
progress this week but Peter will have finished this face before the end of the
month |
29 July 2006 | 10 July 2006 |
This
face is proving to be the most complicated so far. As you can see most
of the background buildings are now visible and Peter has started articulating
the foreground. The farm cart is particularly complicated to carve but there is
no doubt that the finished product will equal the high standards achieved on the
other two completed faces. |
Peter
has completed another magnificent compilation of Sturminster's heritage portrayed
by the ancient town bridge together with it's importance as the centre of the
dairy industry in Dorset. Work is now progressing on the very intricate 3rd
face that depicts the market being held in the Market Square at the turn of the
last century. Some of the existing buildings, including the Swan Inn, will be
recognisable in the design. |
4th
July 2006.
With
only the lettering to complete on the initial face, Peter
has now begun to carve the second face which depicts the town bridge and a single
cow. | |
